Heartbroken over the devastation in the Gulf of Mexico, I’ve been researching the threatened wildlife, and drawing a tribute to them in my sketchbook. Here are some of my pages… there are more to come…
Oh my goodness! Those are gorgous! What great work you’ve done for a sketch book. Amazing. It is so very sad what’s happening in the gulf and frustrating that we seem so powerless to do anything to fix it.
These are such a beautiful tribute. I love manatees and you captured them so well! I have them all in my heart that they will find a way to survive this! I hate that there is nothing we can do!
Beautiful work, Margie. It is so unbelievably sad. I have been wanting to create something to honor those creatures impacted but have yet to be able to put something together. I think your sketches are wonderful.

Thank you, Janeen – yes – the powerless feeling made me draw these – they are my form of “prayer” – a ritual to help heal.

Thanks you, Kristen. I fear we are going to lose so much more life than we can imagine.

Thank you, Kristen. These drawings are a way to keep me focused, and maintain a resonance of beauty in such a tragic time. I appreciate you writing!
