I’m a bit late on this, but I found the graphics and use of color in this summers’ Olympics the most stunning and effective ever. They were also downright beautiful. How brave to use graceful swirls of movement and gradient washes of color for an athletic event. Most often flat bold colors are used. I realize the motifs were inspired by jade carvings. And the lucky cloud symbol found its way onto the torch and other collateral. I was thrilled to watch not only the events this year, but all the graphic design. I had trouble keeping my eyes on the swimmers because the pool banners were just so fantastic!

How fabulous! What wonderful colours & graphics. I hadn’t even thought of using the colours.
I wasn’t that focused on the Olypimcs themselves – but having a cousin participating in the Paralympics, I followed those slavishly.
I musr admit that my attention was rather focussed on her swimming rather than the surrounding enviroment…however now I know exactly what I will be making as a gift to celebrate her success when she returns early next month.
The colours are fresh & exciting – just the thing for a summer “down under”.

“fresh & exciting” is a good description. I like what they did with the standard 5 Olympic colors – they made them so contemporary.
